Looking at free agency so far, the Patriots have basically just resigned their own players. Vince Wilfork became the highest paid nose tackle in the NFL. Leigh Bodden and Tully Banta-Cain, two good players from a mediocre defence, were also re-signed.
What I want to know is this – how will the Patriots improve this off-season. Barring trades, it looks like the Patriots need a very good draft class if they’re to be contenders in 2010. Pass-rush, wide receiver and defensive line certainly need improving first, but there are a surprisingly large number of holes in this roster, and if the Patriots are to be the best team in the AFC East again, they need a very good draft class in my opinion.
