2010 NFL Combine Analysis – Part 9 – 40 times for DE/OLBs

  • The average time for the 34 DEs (and DE/OLB  hybrids) that took part in the 40 yard dash in the 2010 NFL Combine was 4.784 seconds.
  • The fastest DEs were Dexter Davis from Arizona State and Jason Pierre-Paul from South Florida who both ran it in 4.64 seconds.
  • The slowest DE was Alabama’s Lorenzo Washington who ran a 5.10
  • Alex Carrington (Arkansas State) was slower than average with a 4.89
  • Brandon Graham (Michigan) was faster than average with a 4.72
  • Greg Hardy from Mississippi was slower than average with a 4.87
  • Jerry Hughes from TCU and Sergio Kindle from Texas were both faster than average with a 4.69 and a 4.71 respectively.
  • Murray State’s Austen Lane ran a 4.83 which was slower than the average.
  • Koa Misi from Utah ran a 4.69 and Ricky Sapp from Clemson ran a 4.70 (both above average).
  • Pierre-Paul’s South Florida team-mate George Selvie was slower than average with a 4.89
